About "The Revolution"

Okay, this blog is about me, B. Tyler Margison, AKA Matrix, and my streetball "crew", The Revolution. We roll in the BC of Indiana, and since it is, of course, The Hoosier State, we love basketball. There ARE those bastards who like football, baseball, volleyball, soccer, tennis, and "wrestling", but basketball is in everyone's blood, no matter what they play for the school.

We generally play on 8-foot goals, because decent 10-foot goals are hard to come by without disturbing the high school basketball teams. With ~8-foot goals, you can have it anywhere around 8 and it's fine. But with 10, you have to have it completely exactly right. And, even some of the shorter guys can dunk on 8. I'm 5-5 or 5-6 and I can do windmills, 360's, etc. on 8-foot. It's nice.

So usually, we just travel to the Nashville Elementary School Playgrounds, or the local park, Deer Run, and ball on those courts. MY preferable favorite is Deer Run, because it's a full court, with two real goals, both at the same height (lower at the same time), three-point lines, etc.

Since you're probably thinking "Hmm, well, doesn't Shawn Marion have the nickname 'The Matrix'?" Yeah, well shove off. Just kidding. More or less, it came from a discussion about Marion, and when my friends saw me doing dunks and some nice crossovers, and they HAD been talking about Marion, and they said, and I quote "Man, Shawn Marion ain't got nothin' on b-t-m! Tyler's the REAL Matrix!" and the name stuck. And, slowly, as I brought people together, we called our crew The Revolution.

What else can I tell you? Hmm...I'll probably post the roster and some decent profiles next time. You'll like some of these guys. Like Zach Walker AKA Birdie, the 5-3-or-so guy that can jump pretty high and shoots like Dirk Nowitzki in the 3-point showdown: he loves to shoot the lights out. Ethan Scott AKA Phenom, the 5-11-or-so baller that lives up to his nickname. He is absolutely a phenom, and especially on 8-foot. I've seen him do between-the-legs, 360's, 360 windmills, and a bunch of other crazy stuff like that.

Well, I'll post more later. Right now, I have to go ball a bit. Peace.
